Terms of service

The short version

Thank you for visiting Monti. We know nobody comes to a clothing website hoping to read terms and conditions, so here's a short version of what we think matters most. Everything's covered in full underneath, if you need the detail.

  • Who you're buying from. Monti is a trading name of LTFR Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Full details in clause 1.
  • When your order becomes a contract. When we email you to confirm your order has been placed, which happens straight after you pay.
  • How long delivery takes. Our first production run is a preorder with a lead time of around 8 weeks. Once we're holding regular stock, standard delivery is 3 to 5 working days, or 1 to 2 with express. See clauses 3 and 7.
  • Changing your mind. You can cancel and get a full refund within 30 days of receiving your order, no reason needed; you'll cover the cost of sending it back. See clause 8.
  • Wrong size? We'll swap it for free, once for each item you buy, and cover the postage both ways. See clause 9.4.
  • Something wrong with your order? If there's a fault with your garment, or it isn't what we described, let us know. In the first 30 days you can have a full refund. After that, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that isn't possible or doesn't fix it, money back. See clause 11.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Thank you for visiting our site. Below, we've set out the terms that cover our relationship with you when you use our website and from the moment you order.

1.1 Monti is a trading name of LTFR Limited. We're a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15188075, with our registered office at 2 Mayroyd Mill, Mayroyd Lane, Hebden Bridge HX7 8NY. In these terms, “Monti”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean LTFR Limited.

1.2 Need to get in touch? Write to hello@monticlothing.co.uk or to our registered office address above. If we need to contact you, we'll email or post to whichever address you gave us when you ordered.

1.3 We sell to consumers ordering for personal use, and for now we only deliver within the United Kingdom.

1.4 To order from us you'll need to be 18 or over, legally able to enter into a contract, and able to give us a valid email address and a UK delivery address. By placing an order, you confirm that this is correct.

1.5 A quick note if you're buying for a business: our website isn't set up for business ordering, so please don't order through it for anything commercial, self-employed or for resale. We're not currently VAT-registered, so we can't issue a VAT invoice. If you'd like to stock Monti, or buy on behalf of a business, email us at hello@monticlothing.co.uk instead of ordering through the site.

2. These terms

2.1 These are the terms on which we supply our clothing and related products to you. Clause 16 also sets out the terms for using our website, which apply to everyone who visits it. Please read them carefully before you order.

2.2 By placing an order, you're agreeing to be bound by these terms. If you don't agree with them, we'd kindly ask that you don't order from us.

2.3 These terms sit alongside, and are worth reading together with, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, both available on our website.

2.4 The terms that apply to your order are whichever version is live on our website the moment you place it. We may update these terms from time to time, but a change only applies to orders placed after we publish it, not to one you've already made. We don't keep older versions on the site, so save or print a copy when you order if you'd like one for your records.

3. Preorders, stock and limited runs

Ordering ahead of stock? Here's how that works.

3.1 Our first collection is being sold on a preorder basis, with a lead time of around 8 weeks. This means it isn't in stock yet: it'll be made and shipped to us before we can send it on to you. We may use the same approach for future ranges, styles or designs that aren't yet in stock. Because a preorder lead time is longer than the 30-day delivery period that would otherwise apply by default under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, by placing a preorder you're agreeing with us to the longer delivery timescale we've quoted you instead.

3.2 Once a product is held as regular stock, the ordinary delivery timings in clause 7 apply. If a product sells out, it will show as out of stock on our website and you won't be able to order it until it's available again.

3.3 If you've ordered a preorder item, the 30 days you have to change your mind under clause 8 are counted from the day you (or someone you nominate) receive it, not from the day you order or pay. You can also cancel before it arrives.

3.4 We make our collections in limited runs. If we get more orders for a product than we can fulfil from a run, we may fulfil orders up to the quantity available and cancel the rest. If we cancel your order for this reason, we'll tell you by email and refund you in full under clause 4.4.

4. Our contract with you

4.1 Ordering is simple: add a product to your cart, open your cart to check what's in it, then press Check out, where you'll enter your delivery address and payment details. Before you pay, checkout shows you the products, the total price and the delivery charge. Pressing Pay now places your order and commits you to paying for it. Please check your cart carefully and fix any mistakes before then, since up to that point you're free to change or remove anything in it. If you use an express option such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay or Google Pay, you'll see a summary of your order to check before you confirm payment.

4.2 Your order becomes a contract between you and us when we email you to confirm it has been placed (the “Confirmation Email”). We send this straight after you press Pay now and your payment goes through.

4.3 We'll send important information about your order to the email address you give us, including your order confirmation, the cancellation information we're required to give you, and any updates about delays. Please make sure it's one you have access to and check regularly.

4.4 Occasionally we may not be able to fulfil an order, for example if a production run doesn't go ahead, a product sells out before we can allocate it to you, or we can't verify your payment. If that happens, we'll tell you as soon as we can and refund everything you've paid, including delivery, without you needing to ask. Pricing errors are dealt with separately in clause 6.3.

4.5 We sell to customers for their own personal use. We may limit the number of items you can buy, or cancel an order and refund you in full, where it looks like it's being bought for resale, for example several of the same item in the same size.

4.6 We'll assign your order a number and tell you what it is in the Confirmation Email. Please quote it whenever you contact us about your order.

5. Our products

5.1 The images on our website are for illustration. We do our best to display our products accurately, though colours in particular can vary slightly depending on your screen, so your product may vary slightly from the photos. We may adjust our photos using editing or AI-assisted tools, for example to reposition a shot or refine the background, but we'll always endeavour to ensure the garment itself, its colour, fit, fabric and any feeding-access features, is shown as a fair and accurate representation of what you'll receive.

5.2 Packaging may vary from what's shown in our images too.

6. Price, payment and discount codes

Price

6.1 The price of any product is whatever's stated on our website when you submit your order, barring an obvious error. If we also sell through a physical location or a third-party distributor, the price there may differ from our website.

6.2 The cost of delivery isn't included in the product price. We show it separately at checkout, before you pay, based on your delivery address and what you've ordered.

6.3 We work hard to get our prices right, but mistakes can happen. If the price you paid was higher than it should have been, we'll refund the difference. If it was lower, we'll honour it, unless the error was obvious and unmistakable, the kind you could reasonably have spotted yourself. In that case, we may cancel your order and refund you in full, even after we've sent the Confirmation Email, but not once your order has been delivered.

Paying

6.4 You can pay using any of the payment methods shown at checkout, including Monti gift cards where we offer them (see clause 15).

6.5 We take payment when you place your order, including for preorders, rather than when we dispatch. If your payment doesn't go through, we won't be able to process your order. Payment is processed securely through our payment provider; we don't store your full card details on our own systems.

6.6 Some payment options, such as paying later or in instalments with Klarna, are provided by third parties. If you use one, your agreement for that credit is with the provider, not us, and their terms apply. We'll still handle your order, any cancellation or return, and any refund in the usual way. If you're due a refund, we'll send it to the provider, who will adjust or refund your payments.

Discount codes and offers

6.7 Discount codes and other offers, such as automatic discounts, sales and free gifts, are subject to the conditions we publish with them, including any start and end date, minimum spend and products they do not apply to.

6.8 If an offer has an end date but no end time, it runs until 11.59pm UK time on that date.

6.9 You can use one code per order, and codes can't be combined with other offers unless we say they can. Using a code won't stop you qualifying for free delivery under clause 7.2.

6.10 Codes cannot be used to buy gift cards. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or a gift card.

6.11 Enter a code at checkout before you complete your purchase, as we cannot apply one to an order that has already been placed.

6.12 We may cancel a discount code, and refuse or cancel an order, where a code has been used in a way it was not meant to be used, for example where a code intended for one person has been shared publicly.

7. Delivery and delivery charges

Wondering when your order will land?

7.1 We deliver to UK addresses only. Here's what delivery costs:

Delivery option Charge Estimated time
Standard delivery £3.95 3 to 5 working days
Standard delivery on orders of £90 or more (after discounts) Free 3 to 5 working days
Express delivery £6.95 1 to 2 working days

These are our charges at the date of these terms. Whatever's shown at checkout before you pay is what applies to your order, and that's the amount we'll take.

7.2 Whether your order qualifies for free delivery is based on the total you pay for the products (excluding delivery), after any discount code or other offer is applied. Gift cards in your order don't count towards this total. The checkout will show you whether delivery is free before you pay.

7.3 During checkout we'll provide an estimated delivery date or a window. For preorder items, this will be a longer window, as explained in clause 3.

7.4 If an event outside our control delays your order, we'll let you know as soon as we can and do what we can to minimise the delay. We won't be liable for that delay, but if it's likely to be substantial, you can cancel and get a refund for anything you haven't received.

7.5 If your order is running late, you can cancel it at any time before it arrives, and we'll refund everything you've paid for it, including delivery. Just email hello@monticlothing.co.uk with your order number.

7.6 A product becomes your responsibility from the moment we deliver it to the address you gave us.

8. Your right to cancel (change of mind)

Changed your mind? No problem.

8.1 You can cancel your order for any reason, at any time before it arrives or within 30 days of receiving it, and get a full refund. If your order arrives in more than one parcel, your 30 days run from the day you receive the last one. This is separate from your rights if a product is faulty (see clause 11).

8.2 To cancel, just tell us: email hello@monticlothing.co.uk with your order number. If it helps, you can use this wording, but you don't have to: “To LTFR Limited (trading as Monti). I'm giving notice that I'm cancelling my contract for the following goods: (order number), received on (date). (Your name, address and today's date.)”

8.3 As long as you send that message within your 30 days, you've met the deadline. You then have 14 days to send the products back to us (see clause 9).

8.4 If you received a Monti product as a gift, you can return it within the usual 30 days. The refund goes to the person who bought it, using the payment method they used.

9. Returns and size swaps

9.1 If you cancel under clause 8, please return the products to us within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel. Please send them to LTFR Limited, 2 Mayroyd Mill, Mayroyd Lane, Hebden Bridge HX7 8NY.

9.2 If you're returning a product because you've changed your mind, you'll need to pay the return postage. We'll pay it if you're swapping sizes under clause 9.4, or if the product is faulty or isn't as described (see clause 11.2).

9.3 Products should be returned unworn, with their tags attached and, where reasonably possible, in their original packaging. You may handle and try on a product to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, size, fit and feeding access, as you would in a shop. If a product has been handled beyond that, for example by being worn or washed, we may reduce your refund to reflect any resulting reduction in its value, as set out in clause 10.3.

9.4 Need a different size? We'll swap it for free, once for each item you buy. Just email us within 30 days of receiving your order.

9.5 We'll email you a prepaid returns label, so it costs you nothing to send the item back. Once it reaches us in the condition described in clause 9.3, we'll post the new size to you, also free of charge. If the size you want is out of stock, we'll refund you under clause 10 instead.

9.6 If you're swapping more than one item from the same order, please send them back together in one parcel. We'll send you one prepaid label for each order, and post your new sizes together. If you choose to send items back in separate parcels, you'll need to pay the postage for any parcel after the first.

9.7 Free swaps are for a different size of the same item only. If you'd like a different colour, or a further change of size, you can return the item under clause 8 and place a new order.

10. Refunds

10.1 We'll refund the price you paid, by the method you used to pay, within 14 days of the day we receive the product back or, if earlier, the day you show us you've sent it back.

10.2 That refund covers the product's price in full, including standard delivery costs to get it to you. We may make deductions though, as described below.

10.3 If you're exercising your right to change your mind, we may reduce your refund to reflect any drop in the value of the goods, where that's been caused by handling them in a way that wouldn't be permitted in a shop.

10.4 If a product was bought on a promotion or with a discount code, we'll refund the price you actually paid.

11. Your rights if there is something wrong with your product: faulty or misdescribed goods

Something not right with what arrived?

11.1 If your product is faulty or isn't as described, let us know. Within 30 days of receiving it, you can have a full refund. After that, we'll repair or replace it, and if we can't, or the repair or replacement doesn't fix the problem, you can have your money back. This covers faults that were there when the product reached you, rather than normal wear and tear.

11.2 To return a product under clause 11.1, email hello@monticlothing.co.uk with your order number and, where possible, a photo of the fault. We'll email you a prepaid returns label, so it costs you nothing to send it back, and we'll pay to deliver any replacement.

12. Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

12.1 We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for anything that isn't foreseeable.

12.2 We only supply products for domestic and private use. If you use them for any commercial, business or resale purpose, we'll have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

13. Events outside our control

13.1 We won't be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performing, our obligations under a contract that's caused by an event outside our control, such as strikes, industrial action, supplier failures, or severe weather.

14. Complaints

14.1 Got a complaint? Email us at hello@monticlothing.co.uk and we'll do our best to resolve it.

14.2 We're not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. If this changes, we'll update this clause with details of the scheme and how to use it.

15. Gift cards

We may offer Monti gift cards from time to time. Where we do, the terms in this clause apply to them.

15.1 Our gift cards are currently digital and are sent by email, either to you or to the person you're giving it to, so there's no delivery charge. They can be used to buy products on our website, and can't be exchanged for cash or resold.

15.2 A gift card is valid for 24 months from the date we issue it, and the expiry date is shown in the gift card email. If a balance is left unspent at the end of that period, it expires.

15.3 If your order costs more than the balance on your gift card, you pay the difference using one of our other payment methods. If it costs less, the remaining balance stays on the card for you to use again.

15.4 Treat your gift card code like cash. If you lose it, or think someone else has used it, contact us. We can resend it, or deactivate it and issue a new code for any remaining balance. We can't replace any balance that's already been spent.

15.5 If you cancel an order that was paid for with a gift card, we'll refund you to the same gift card.

16. Using our website

This section applies to everyone who visits our website, whether or not you place an order. By using our site, you agree to it.

16.1 Our content and brand. Everything on our website, including our designs, product photography, text and logo, belongs to us or is used with permission. You're welcome to view it, share links to it, and print or download pages for your own personal use, but please don't copy, reproduce or use any of it for anything else, including commercially, without our written permission.

16.2 Scraping and AI. You must not use any automated tool, such as a bot, scraper or crawler, to extract content or data from our website, or use any of our content to train, develop or test artificial intelligence or machine learning systems. Search engines indexing our site so it appears in search results are fine.

16.3 Reviews and anything you post. If you leave a review or post anything else on our website, you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, reproduce and display it, including on our website, social media and marketing, alongside the name you gave with it. Anything you post must be honest and based on your own genuine experience, and must not be offensive, misleading or infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove anything that breaks these rules.

16.4 How our reviews work. We collect reviews through Judge.me. When a review can be matched to an order placed on our website, it shows a Verified badge. From time to time we send people our clothes free of charge so they can try them and tell us what they think. Any review from someone who received an item from us for free will be clearly marked as gifted, and won't show as Verified. We don't pay for reviews and we never ask anyone to leave a positive one. We publish all genuine reviews, good or bad, unless they break the rules in clause 16.3.

16.5 Using our site properly. You must not misuse our website, for example by knowingly introducing viruses or other harmful material, trying to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it, or attacking it in any way. Doing so may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and we may report it to the relevant authorities.

16.6 Keeping the site running. Our website is free to use. We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free from errors, and we may suspend or change it, for example for maintenance. As long as we've taken reasonable care, we won't be responsible for any loss you suffer because the site is unavailable, or for damage to your device or data caused by a virus or other harmful material that reaches it through our site.

16.7 Links. Where our site links to other websites or social media, those links are for your information only. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content. You're welcome to link to our homepage, as long as you do so fairly and lawfully and don't suggest any association with us, or endorsement from us, that doesn't exist.

17. Other important terms

17.1 Assignment by us. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will notify you in writing if this happens, and we will ensure that the transfer does not affect your rights under the contract.

17.2 Assignment by you. You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to another person if we agree to this in writing.

17.3 Third party rights. This contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce any of its terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.

17.4 Severance. Each of the clauses of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will remain in full force and effect.

17.5 Waiver. No failure or delay by us in exercising any right or remedy under these terms will operate as a waiver of that right or remedy, and will not prevent us from exercising it at a later date.

17.6 Governing law and jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring legal proceedings in either the Scottish courts or the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring legal proceedings in either the Northern Irish courts or the courts of England and Wales.
